The SOUTH AFRICAN COLLIERIES ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION (SACEA) is proud to announce that a donation of R20 000 each has been handed over to the COSMOS CHILDRENS HAVEN.
The Association President (Mr Hennie Lombard), Past President (Mrs Annette Small and Second Vice-President (Mr Mazwi Buthelezi) handed over the donation to the COSMOS CHILDRENS HAVEN and expressed their gratitude to these organisations for caring for the children in their care.
This year is SACEA 42nd anniversary. This is indeed a huge milestone for the Association and something we all can be very proud, to be part of an Association that has added so much value to the Coal Mining Sector. The commitment and dedication SACEA members have demonstrated over the past 42 years has reminded us of the huge role the Association has played, in making the Coal Mining sector a safer, more cost efficient and productive Industry.
About COSMOS CHILDRENS HAVEN
The COSMOS CHILDRENS HAVEN, a children’s home in Kriel currently cares for 76 children between the ages of 0- 18 years on an ongoing basis. Although care is given for over 76 children, state subsidy is received for 60 children. The haven relies heavily on the community to help with the financial burden with the children. The haven functions independently and does fundraising to supplement the shortfall and to provide for these children’s needs.
The haven is a place of safety for children referred by the Children’s Court due to circumstances that make it impossible for these children to remain in parental homes.
Any help given to keep the organisation being functional and provide in assisting the needs of these children and are highly appreciated.
